Stella's Got her groove on now

Stella is moving and grooving. She still prefers the army crawl, but she has busted out a few "traditional" crawl moves. She can get around rather quickly, especially if she sees something she really wants, like Puck's tail! She also started clapping her hands together. I, for some reason, have been so excited for this skill. I have constantly showed her how to do it and she started clapping yesterday on her own while I was getting ready to take her for a run. Stella's really enjoying eating and sadly, I don't have any pictures of her enjoying her new foods. I will have to remember to take some. So far mangos and sweet potatoes are her favorites.

8 Months!

Stella is actually 8 months and a week but here are some cute pictures of Stella enjoying her first week as an 8-month-old.

Here she is on my 32nd birthday. As a treat, Brian brought her to my work to show her off on my birthday. She found the place quite entertaining. I always wondered if experiencing a psychiatric emergency room in utero would effect her development. She seemed quite comfortable at PES. I guess she is used to all the chaos.

Here is Stella playing in the house and outside in her new swing. Our friend Alissa's little girl Ella used to swing in this. Ella was very happy that Stella can now enjoy her swing.

Snail Rocker!

Two posts in one day! Woo hoo! Stella's cousins Josh and Jenna kindly gave her their snail rocker that they out grew. Stella LOVES it and can't thank them enough for sharing. She looks like she is ready to ride the electric bull at a real Texas rodeo next!

Army Crawl!

Stella will be 8 months old tomorrow. She is definitely on the verge of being very mobile, very soon. She loves to Army crawl. She squirms her way, commando style to whatever object she is currently most fascinated with. At the moment, that is our cell phones and the remote. We actually have so many remotes that we gave her a "decoy" one which does not operate any electronic equipment so she can chew on it to her heart's content. We predict Stella will get the crawling on her knees thing down soon. But for now, she like to motor as shown in the video. It's pretty cute.

On a side note. Stella had her tubes put in yesterday. She did great. We never cease to be amazed by her positive attitude. Although we had to be at the surgery center at 5:30 in the morning and she had not had anything to eat or drink since 6:30 the night before, she was a champ. She had a great time during the hour and half wait before her procedure and charmed the pants off the nurses, our Pedi ENT, the anesthesiologist, everyone. She went cheerfully to the surgery nurse at 7:10 and was back in our arms at about 7:25 and we were able to leave at 8:00. She even was in such good spirits we decided to celebrate with some breakfast at Kerby Lane afterwards! Thanks for all your good thoughts about Stella. We hope this marks the end of the ear infection era!
