Wow, where has the time gone... it is almost April. I realized that writing all day long makes writing at home very unappealing. We just returned to a week long trip out west. We started in Austin, went to Balmorhea, TX the first night, Albuquerque the second night, (after a stop in White Sands), Flagstaff the third night (20 inches of snow!), The Grand Canyon!,then camping in the canyon north of Sedona the next two nights, hiking in Sedona, then on to Tucson, then back to Ft. Stockton, TX and back to Austin a week later! It was a wonderful escape from the day to day. Although, it was very unplanned, it went off with relatively few hitches, albeit the lake at Balmorhea (can anyone say Deliverance?), the 25 mile per hour wind in New Mexico, the "room that rents by the hour" in Albuquerque, and the 20 inches of snow in Flagstaff and 20 degree temps camping north of Sedona, and the cooking oil spill on I-10 in Tucson. However, it also included some real jems... Puck's first snow, the magnificent Grand Canyon, the cutest town ever (Flagstaff), making friends camping, hiking the red rocks, seeing deer in the Grand Canyon and Sedona, camping in the Tucson desert. Here are a few photos of the trip, and a few of our new home in South Austin.
